* December 2017: Read about our October 1 Fall Family Festival and elements that have been installed at the Playscape over the past year in our Winter 2017 newsletter. * October 1: Fall Family Festival. Our second Fall Family Festival is coming up and will feature several groups and activities ... complete details available on our Fall Family Festival page. * May 2017: A big THANK YOU to the group of Willard fifth graders who chose to spend yesterday afternoon's Fifth Grade Service Day working at the Playscape! The students weeded the raised beds, removed sand from the dry streambed, removed invasives, and installed fences around some plants that needed protection. * April 2017: Our thanks to Concord Town Meeting for approving the granting of $6,000 of Community Preservation Act funds to the Playscape to replace nine trees that were destroyed in last August's tornado. The trees are part of the natural pathway on the site and are integral to the Playscape's design and landscape. * December 2016: Our Goric accessible carousel and community swing have been installed! These two elements are key components of the Playscape's accessibility strategy, allowing disabled children to enjoy playing with peers with limited intervention from parents or professionals. Both the swing and the Carousel provide the vestibular stimulation so important for all children, both disabled and typically-developing, in a safe and predictable way. For photos of the installation of these new elements, visit our December 2016 photos page.
